Partner with University of Findlay
Recently, The University of Findlay television station (UFTV), the Pulse, and WLFC have converged to form the Findlay Media Network.   FMN provides the Hancock County region with informational, artistic, educational and enriching stories that draw upon the vast intellectual and creative talents of the University of Findlay, its students and the community.
FMN is encouraging our viewing community to get involved in storytelling. Perhaps you always wanted to be a storyteller or work in the media, but never had the opportunity.  FMN is offering you that opportunity for free. Learn how create and develop stories about you, your family, your business, friends in the community in which they work and reside. It is for us, and about us! Take advantage of an opportunity to learn how to use HD video technology to create your own stories or programs to share information for your family, friends, and community.
We want to partner with members of the community to help you create and promote your content and stories that capture the character and culture of our community. For example:
  • a talk show about the community, government, or sports;
  • features about community members or businesses;
  • non-profits mission;
  • mature living;
  • nature or gardening;
  • a hobby or product you would like to promote;
 We have the cameras and production equipment to help you produce your idea into a TV program, as well as enthusiastic students to assist you to do-it-yourself (DIY), if you desire. As a member of the community you have an opportunity to learn media operations and storytelling while our Communication students improve their own skills.
Your stories will appear on the FMN distribution network:
  • READ:  The Pulse (pulse.findlay.edu) is widely read and is now online.
  • WATCH:  UFTV (uftv.findlay.edu) serves 43,000 homes on Time-Warner cable distribution network. Our eNewsletter is distributed to 5,000+ emails in the UF educational community. UFTV delivers documentaries, faculty lectures, research symposiums, live athletic events, and artistic performances through a complete and entertaining multi-media experience on your mobile device, online, and in over 43,000 homes in Hancock County on Time Warner Cable channels 20 and 96.205.
  • LISTEN:  WLFC 88.3 (www.wlfc883.com) reaches 14 Northwest Ohio Counties; 53% of audience age is 18-34; and the home of UF athletics.

Downtown Findlay Improvement District

From the President of the DFID,  Duane Wires.  The DFID has decided that due to all the construction planned for Main Street, they will not be putting up flower baskets this year.  They are moving forward on plans to add irrigation during the construction process, to water baskets in 2018, and are also working with the city to add ground level music to replace the overhead speaker system currently used.
The Downtown Findlay Facebook page, and Website are the best places to go to learn more about Downtown Findlay.  Please reach out to me, ctreadway@downtownfindlay.com, for anything Downtown Findlay.
